Abhimanyu Chapter 1 Poster Out, Releasing on Bhadra 27
Kathmandu: The much-anticipated Nepali film Abhimanyu: Chapter 1 has officially kicked off its 100-day countdown to release. Marking this milestone, the production team revealed a new poster today. The poster confirms that the film is set to hit theaters on Bhadra 27, 2082.
The newly released poster captures the rural essence of the Terai region. It depicts a man walking beside a young girl dressed in a government school uniform, carrying her books, against a backdrop of paddy fields and banana plantations—symbolizing a story rooted in heartland Nepal.
Currently in post-production, Abhimanyu: Chapter 1 explores the clash between the lure of money and the complex traps of life, as hinted by its theme poster featuring elements of a “chakrabyuh” (vicious trap). The central narrative revolves around an individual caught in a financial web and their fight to escape it.
Directed by Sushant Gautam, this film marks his directorial debut under the banner of 7Seas Cinemas. The story is penned by Mukesh Khanal, with Madan Thapa, known for Bato: Road to Death, serving as the creative director.
Produced by Binod Poudel and Gunjan Giri, the film also includes Ramesh Chaulagain and Hari Shrestha as co-producers and Bishal Lama, Hari Moktan, Krishna Bhattarai, Nirajan Luintel, and Sandesh Shrestha as executive producers.
Abhimanyu features a powerful ensemble cast including Sarita Giri, Gaumaya Gurung, Laxmi Bardewa, Shishir Bangdel, Kiran Shrestha, Prakash Dahal, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, and Sushma Niraula.
Jiban Shakya is the line producer, with Akash Ukheda as the chief assistant director, Madan Ghimire as editor, and Saroj Shrestha handling production control.
In a groundbreaking move for the Nepali film industry, Abhimanyu: Chapter 1 will be released simultaneously worldwide in both Nepali and Hindi languages, aiming to reach broader South Asian audiences.
