Auspicious Ritual held for Film ‘The Blue Light’

Kathmandu: The psychological thriller ‘The Blue Light’ officially kicked off with an auspicious ritual held at the Ganesh Temple in Kamaladi, Kathmandu. The launch event was graced by the film’s lead actors and technical crew.

The shooting of ‘The Blue Light’ is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Jestha 22. The film will be shot at various locations within the Kathmandu Valley over a span of 20 days.

Directed by Baliram Chauhan, who also co-wrote the much-anticipated film ‘Balidan,’ this marks his directorial debut.

The film’s theme poster—already released—shows a girl surrounded by a surreal blue aura, hinting at a mysterious and psychological tone. Her haunting posture and expression add to the suspense, promising an intense cinematic experience.

The ensemble cast includes Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Ayushman Deshraj Joshi, Benisha Hamal, Shristi Shrestha, and Surakshya Poudel Itani. Child actors Grishma Katuwal and Sahara Sharma will also play key roles.

‘The Blue Light’ is presented by Skyfall Pictures, with Raman Grey as co-producer and Narendra Mainali leading cinematography. The production team also includes Akash Ukheda (Chief Assistant Director), Reliza Shrestha (Production Designer), and Dilip Pant (Production Controller).

Director Chauhan has opted to keep the film’s plot confidential for now, promising gradual reveals through promotional content. He aims to craft a standout entry in the psychological thriller genre.

The movie is expected to be released within 2025.
