Kathmandu: Actress Bipana Thapa, who made a powerful comeback to acting after 16 years with the film Hrashwo Deergha, is set to take on the lead role in director Chandra Pant’s next emotional drama, ‘Aa Baat Aama.’

The film marks the second collaboration between Thapa and Pant following the box-office success of Hrashwo Deergha. This time, the story is said to be even more emotionally intense, with Thapa playing the role of a mother at the heart of the narrative.

“She carries the entire story,” said Pant. “As a writer and director, I haven’t seen any Nepali film with such emotional depth. The role is tailor-made for Bipana.”

Bipana revealed she was overwhelmed by the story during its narration. “I was speechless—my throat went dry. The story is incredibly powerful,” she said, adding that the film’s emotionally charged songs moved her to tears and are sure to strike a deep chord with the audience.

Thapa, who portrayed a mayor in her last film, will now step into the role of a deeply emotional mother. A recently released theme poster shows a child’s hand reaching up to stop the tears falling from a mother’s eyes—symbolizing the film’s core message.

The film is written by Abhimanyu Nirvi, and according to the team, other cast and crew members are yet to be finalized. Filming is scheduled to begin in Bhadra, and the movie will hit theaters on Falgun 15.

With its emotional storyline centered on motherhood and familial bonds, Aa Baat Aama promises to be a tearjerker and a milestone in Bipana Thapa’s acting career.
