Emotional Song ‘Aama’ Released from Janai Harayeko Manchhe

By PMST US-Nepal | June 5, 2025

Kathmandu: The heart-touching song ‘Aama’ from the upcoming Nepali film Janai Harayeko Manchhe: Sambandhaka Dhagaharu has officially been released, stirring deep emotions in listeners across the country.

Composed, written, and sung by Arjun Pokharel, with additional vocals by Manisha Sunar, the song explores the emotional journey of a son who moves to Kathmandu to lift the burdens off his mother’s shoulders—but faces harsh realities instead.

The melody captures the highs and lows of the protagonist’s emotional state, while the lyrics narrate his heartfelt plea for time to stop and for death to spare his ailing mother. This emotional narrative stands out from typical “mother songs” in Nepali cinema.

Set against the backdrop of rural-to-urban migration, the song also touches on the alienation and harshness of Kathmandu—“a city where houses don’t feel like homes”—while honoring the silent strength of mothers waiting back home.

The music video features lead actors Bijay Baral, Keki Adhikari, Miruna Magar, Sushank Mainali, and Kabita Ale. According to associate director Manish Raut, the song is a tribute to every mother hoping for her children’s success and to the sons and daughters enduring city life for their dreams.

Directed by Himal Neupane, the film showcases a powerful cast, including Gaurav Pahari, Bholaraj Sapkota, Rare Rai, Tara Sharma, Bhawana Khapangi Magar, and others.

Janai Harayeko Manchhe is produced under the Paperclip banner by Kamal Neupane and Bimal Neupane, with executive producers R.K. Manandhar, Rupesh Lama, C.R. Basnet, Narayan Timilsina, and Chudamani Siwakoti.

The film’s music comes from Thaneshwor Gautam, SD Yogi, Prashant Siwakoti, and Arjun Pokharel, while Nabin Gurung and Krishna Pariyar handle cinematography. The story and screenplay are written by Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.

Distributed by Kafiya Films, the film is slated for release on Bhadra 6, 2082 (August 22, 2025). This marks Bijay Baral’s first lead role of the year following his blockbuster success in Purna Bahadurko Sarangi.

Fans are already praising the song for its emotional depth, and anticipation is rising for the film’s full release.
