Kathmandu: The highly anticipated Nepali film ‘Mahabhoj,’ which was originally set to release on Jestha 15, has now officially announced a new release date of Jestha 30. Due to unforeseen special circumstances, the film’s debut had to be postponed, prompting the production team to issue a heartfelt apology to eager fans across the country.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dinesh Raut, the film promises a powerful social narrative wrapped in entertainment. “We could not release the film ‘Mahabhoj,’ which we prepared with a lot of effort, on the scheduled date due to some special circumstances,” Raut said. “We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to the audience.”
The director also thanked audiences for their patience, adding, “Now the movie is releasing on Jestha 30. This is the story of our society; we will succeed only with your support and love. So don’t forget to watch ‘Mahabhoj’ at your nearest theater on this date.”
Just days ago, a preview show held in Kathmandu garnered overwhelming praise. Viewers described the film as both moving and highly entertaining, resonating with stories of cooperative victims while delivering compelling performances.
‘Mahabhoj’ stars Dayahang Rai, Aryan Sigdel, Khagendra Lamichhane, Anjana Baraili, Malika Mahat, Gaumaya Gurung, Basundhara Bhusal, and Mohan Niraula. The film is produced by Himal Kadariya under the joint banner of Clock Work Creations and Picture Frame.
With its strong storyline, impactful acting, and visually engaging presentation, ‘Mahabhoj’ is expected to be a standout release in Nepali cinema this year.
