Oonko Sweater Evening Rocks Dharan With 6,000 spectators

Dharan: A grand musical event titled ‘Oonko Sweater Evening’ took place on Thursday evening at Dharan Stadium, drawing over 6,000 enthusiastic spectators. This event was a major promotional activity for the upcoming Nepali feature film The Woolen Sweater (Oonko Sweater), scheduled for worldwide release on Baisakh 26, 2081 (next Friday).

The crowd included locals as well as fans who arrived in large numbers from distant locations like Phidim and Panchthar via a 200 km motorcycle rally, making it one of the most energetic film promotions in recent times. Attendees from nearby villages also joined the celebration, showcasing the film’s growing popularity before its release.

The event was graced by the presence of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan Mayor Hark Sampang and Deputy Mayor Aindra Bikram Begha, who welcomed and honored the film’s cast and crew. Lead actors Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Wilson Bikram Rai, Parikshya Limbu, and Alex Paras, along with director Nabin Chauhan, lyricist Yubaraj Kafle, and singers Sujan Chapagain and Jhuma Limbu, were all in attendance.

The musical segment of the evening was led by Sujan Chapagain and The Infinity Band, who delivered electrifying performances of hit songs including “Lajayera,” “Timi Bina Timi Hunu,” “Fulthunge Rani,” “Aasuko Bhari,” “Gala Pukka,” “Teenpatey,” and “Makhamali.” 

One of the standout performances of the night was the duet “Kafle,” performed with Jhuma Limbu, which earned an especially emotional response from the audience. The soulful and culturally rooted music from The Woolen Sweater is already making waves on social media platforms.

The Woolen Sweater is the debut feature film of director Nabin Chauhan, who has previously impressed with musical shorts like Ghumi Ghumi, Dekhera Timilai – Teenpatey, Fhoolthunge Rani, and Chandrama. The film, shot in Panchthar and Phalelung near the Nepal-India border, tells a heartwarming story with deep cultural roots and emotional storytelling.

In his speech, Chauhan announced that the profits from the Dharan event would be donated to the Labor Culture Campaign of the Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, demonstrating the team’s commitment to social responsibility.

Following successful editions in Pokhara and Kathmandu, the Dharan leg of Oonko Sweater Evening marked the third and largest event of the promotional tour. With overwhelming public support and strong advance buzz, The Woolen Sweater is shaping up to be one of the most awaited Nepali films of 2025.
