Kathmandu: Actor Paul Shah has officially signed on to star in the upcoming emotional drama ‘Aa Bata Aama,’ written and directed by Chandra Panta. This marks a significant addition to the film, which already features actress Bipana Thapa in the lead role.

The film is slated for release on Falgun 15, 2082 and explores the deep emotional bond between a mother and her child.

Paul Shah shared that he was captivated by the heart-touching script and felt emotionally connected to the story. “We listened to the script multiple times, and each time, everyone in the room was moved,” Shah said, calling it possibly the most emotional project of his career.

He also praised director Chandra Pant’s previous film, ‘Hrashwo Deergha,’ which marked Pant’s return to filmmaking after 16 years. Shah said that the film’s success and Pant’s direction were key reasons for joining this new project.

Bipana Thapa, who had a successful comeback with ‘Hrashwo Deergha,’ is set to portray the mother in ‘Aa Bata Aama.’ The two actors’ pairing is generating buzz in the industry, especially given the powerful theme and script.

Abhimanyu Nirabi is penning the script, while a theme poster released earlier showed a moving image of a child’s hand stopping a teardrop from a mother’s eye—symbolizing the essence of the film.

With shooting expected to begin soon and more casting news on the way, ‘Aa Bata Aama’ is positioning itself as one of the most anticipated emotional dramas in Nepali cinema’s upcoming lineup.
