Prakash Saput Teams Up with Dayahang Rai in ‘Mirmire’
Kathmandu: Acclaimed singer and actor Prakash Saput has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Nepali film Mirmire, directed by Yam Sherpa. This project marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Saput and leading actor Dayahang Rai.
Director Sherpa, who rose to fame with the film Karsang, shared that Mirmire will feature a powerful cast and robust technical work. Although Saput’s role in the film is primarily acting, Sherpa noted that his musical involvement might be confirmed at a later stage.
Excited about this new venture, Saput described his role as special and meaningful, stating his belief that Mirmire will take his film career to new heights.
Produced under the banner of Yarsa Films, Mirmire tells a socially rooted story set in rural Nepal. The film’s story and direction are both handled by Yam Sherpa himself.
The film is produced by Nimu Sherpa, Chongba Lama Sherpa, and Angchhiring Sherpa, with Gobinda Bohora and Ishwor Shrestha serving as co-producers. Rohit Katel, a film distributor and executive at RR Films, is the executive producer.
Mirmire is slated for a 2025 release, and while the exact date is yet to be confirmed, the production team is aiming for a release within this year. RR Films will manage the film’s distribution.
