Sunil Thapa Appears as ‘Yam Raja’ in Sci-Fi Film ‘Eklo-I’

Kathmandu: The upcoming Nepali feature film Eklo, directed by Pradeep Shahi, has unveiled character posters of actor Sunil Thapa and Avon Raj Upreti. Sunil Thapa is seen in a commanding look as “Yam Raja,” introducing a mysterious and mythical twist to the science fiction-based narrative.

Previously released character posters included actors Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Diya Pun (as Astronaut Pun), Benisha Hamal, Kabita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, and British actor Jamie Bacon. Each poster teases a unique character, hinting at the film’s ambitious scope.

Eklo marks Pradeep Shahi’s third directorial venture. Based in the UK, Shahi aims to elevate Eklo to Hollywood standards, with post-production currently underway in London. The film garnered international attention after presenting a marketing stall at the Cannes Film Festival, significantly boosting its visibility. Though the release date is yet to be finalized, anticipation is rising.

The star-studded cast includes Pradeep Khadka, Benisha Hamal, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Dinesh D.C., Suraj Singh Thakuri, Avon Raj Upreti, Kabita Nepali, Truchu Rai, Krishna Bhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Digajj Khatri, Binod Subedi Kshitij, Srishesh Shrestha, child actor Jevin Shrestha, and Sion Sabik Singh, along with British actor Jamie Bacon.

The film, produced under the banner of Shahi Production Nepal, is in collaboration with Hamsaair Accountant. The producers of the movie ‘Eklo-I’ are Raju Kumar Gurung, Hari Shrestha, Bishnu Tamang, Utsav Bista, Sangita Bade Shrestha, Bhai Raja Thapa, Nabin Kumar Siwa, and Bagbir Pun, while the executive producer is Binod Subedi ‘Kshitij.’ The film, which is shot by Babu Shrestha, has action direction by Raju Tamang, set design by Raju Painter, and art direction by Santosh Lama.

According to director Shahi, character poster reveals are now complete, and a teaser will be released soon alongside the film’s official release date.
