15th Bindabasini Music Awards 2081: Winners in 17 Categories
The 15th edition of the Bindabasini Music Awards has been distributed. Awards were distributed in 17 categories at a ceremony held at the Rastriya Nachghar. The song ‘Jun Maya’ was declared the ‘Best Song of the Year.” Raj Sigdel won the “Best Singer of the year (Modern) Male” for the song ‘Hridaya Ma,’ and Usha Gajurel won the “Best Singer of the year (Modern) Female” for the song ‘Mausam Aaula.’
Shridhar Adhikari won the “Best Music of the year Modern” for the song ‘Chhau Ni Timi Aaha.’ Baikuntha Mahat and Benisha Poudel won the “Best Duet Singer of the Year” from the song ‘Pirim Gadi,’ and Binod Shrestha and Usha Subedi won the Best Model Couple award for ‘Bidai 2.’
At a ceremony held with music and dance performances, Arjun Sapkota won a “Best Lok Dohori Singer of the Year (Male)” from ‘Basayau Alakkai’; Kabita Khatri won a “Best Lok Dohori Singer of the Year (Female)” from the song ‘Namaste Dhogdiya,’ and Khem Pun won a “Best Lok Dohori Composition of the year” from the song ‘Marne Sui Laideu.’ Narayan Gyawali won the award for “Best Lok Dohori Song of the Year” for the song ‘Kanya Rashi.’ Nishan Baniya won the award for “Best Video director of the year (Lok Dohori)” for the song ‘Bhagyamai Runa Lekheko,’ and Paul Shah and Narayani Khatri won the award for “Best Model of the Year (Lok Dohori)” for the song ‘Kaila.’
Bishal Ghimire received the award for “Best Video Director Of the Year” for the song ‘Meri Bathi Maya.’ Amrit Chapagain received the award for “Best video editor of the year” for the song ‘Mayali,’ and Pawan Susling received the award for ” Best Cinematographer Of the year” for the song ‘Mayalai Panko Paat.’ Prem Sapkota Sonu received the “Best Debut Singer of the Year” for the song ‘Aru Ta Ke Bhanu Mayalu.’
Juna Bishwakarma and Anil Paudel won the “Best Model of the Year (Lok Dohori)” for the song ‘Maya Aaune Bus.’
In the jury category, Smriti Timalsina won the award for ” Best Video Director of the Year (Lok Dohori) for the song ‘Nepalma Rel Kahali Aaula.’ Sanjay Devkota won the award for “Best debut singer of the year” for the song ‘Kura Bujhiideu Na,’ Bikram Budhathoki and Alina Rayamajhi won the award for “Best Model of the year (Modern) for the song ‘Hare Maile Mayama.’ Khem Century won the award for “Best Lok Dohori Composition of the year” for the song ‘Tallo Bato,’ and Santosh Sapkota won the award for song for ‘Dukh Satamla.’
At the ceremony, lyricist Rajendra Thapa was presented with the Dirgha Sadhana Samman along with a cash prize of Rs 100,000. Singer Sangeeta Shakya was presented with the Sangeet Sadhana Samman along with Rs 50,000. Singer Nisha Desar was presented with the Prem Dhawaj Sangeet Ratna Samman along with Rs 25,000.
Journalist Sharada Thapa was awarded the Art Journalism Award along with Rs 25,000, and folk singer Shirish Devkota was awarded the Jhalakman Folk Music Award along with Rs 25,000. Singer Durgesh Thapa was specially honored. Paul Shah and Durgesh performed on the same stage at the ceremony.
Durgesh performed the worldwide hit song “Dushman Hereko Hereyai” with a chorus artist, while Paul Shah danced to his hit song with Narayani Khatri and a chorus artist. In her welcome address, Foundation Chair Leena Sharma announced that starting the next year, the competition will have a smaller structure, and all winners will receive cash prizes.
