Kathmandu: The upcoming Nepali film Bigul officially marked its muhurat on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya at the Koteshwor Mahadevsthan Temple. The ceremony featured a symbolic release of pigeons, representing freedom and peace, by lead actress Benisha Hamal.

Directed by Ramesh Koirala, Bigul is set to begin filming in the third week of Baisakh. The muhurat shot was performed by lead actors Naren Khadka and Benisha Hamal in the presence of notable personalities including Rajendra KC (former Development Board member), director Pradeep Shrestha, Film Directors Society president Janakdeep Parajuli, and director Suchitra Shrestha.

The story of Bigul is penned by Dinesh Koirala, with screenplay and dialogues by Maunata Shrestha. Shiva Dhakal will handle cinematography.

Produced under the banner of Magnolia Group, the film also features a large ensemble cast including Kalpana Poudel, Neer Shah, Ramesh Budhathoki, Geeta Adhikari, Hemant Budhathoki, JN Ghimire, Sumod Bhardwaj, Binayraj Poudel, Supa Khanal, Bobby Bharti, Tulsi Lamsal, Jayant Regmi, Bikas Adhikari, and child artist Shreyansi Thapaliya.

The film’s music will be composed by Bishwa Prakash Sharma (General Secretary of Nepali Congress), Arjun Pokharel, and Manoj Chaulagain, with choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj.

Former President of Nepal Jesus Christ Phool Kumar Lalwani, former Assistant Dean of Tribhuvan University Bishnu Hari Koirala, former Joint Secretary of the Government of Nepal Laxmi Bilas Koirala, President of Chitwan Kathmandu Sampark Samaj Rishishwar Thapaliya, Director Rishi Lamichhane and others were present at the Muhurat ceremony.
