Movie ‘Khel’ Premieres with Star Cast in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, April 24— The grand premiere of the much-awaited Nepali film Khel took place on Wednesday evening at QFX Cinema Hall, Chhaya Center, ahead of its nationwide release this Friday.
The premiere event drew a large crowd of film enthusiasts, media personnel, and industry professionals. Cast members including Surakshya Panta, Hena Nagarkoti, Monika Thapa, Nikita Acharya, and Samapika Gautam graced the occasion. Director Anurag Pradhan, who specially arrived from India, was joined by co-director Aastha Shrestha and the production team.
Speaking at the event, director Pradhan expressed his intent to bring his Bollywood experience into the Nepali film industry. Lead actress Surakshya Panta voiced optimism about the film’s success, citing its emotional connection with youth and positive reception at the premiere.
Khel, a mythical suspense thriller, has been lauded for its Hollywood-style storytelling, blending Nepali myths, mystery, and modern psychology. The film also features veteran actors Mithila Sharma, Bholaraj Sapkota, Sarita Giri, and others.
Jointly directed by Anurag Pradhan and Aastha Shrestha, Khel is produced by Lewis Raj Maharjan and Aasish Raj Maharjan under the Shirupatey Cuts Pvt. Ltd. banner. Co-producers include Kunal Raj Gurung and Rahish Raj Maharjan.
The story is penned by Aasish Raj Maharjan, with a screenplay by Abhitendra and Bishnu Gaire. The film’s cinematography is by Roshan Rai and Sanjay Lama, editing by Ashish Raj Maharjan, and color by Rajendra Moktan. Bikal Pradhan handled sound design. Promotion is led by Royal Bhimsen (Trident Concepts), while DCN (Digital Cinema Nepal) manages distribution.
Khel officially hits theaters across Nepal this Friday.
