Jaar Film Team Heads to Sikkim for World Premiere
Kathmandu: The cast and crew of the much-anticipated film Jaar have left for Sikkim to attend its world premiere, scheduled to take place in Gangtok on Wednesday. The film, which will officially release on Baisakh 26, is expected to draw significant attention in both Nepal and India.
Led by director Phurba Tshiring Lama, the team includes executive producer Trilochan Pandey, renowned actors Saugat Malla and Anoop Bikram Shahi, and acclaimed singer and musician Jhuma Limbu. They departed for Gangtok early Tuesday morning, ahead of the premiere.
Director Lama shared that the event will be a grand celebration, attended by prominent personalities from the world of cinema, literature, politics, business, and social work. The world premiere marks the beginning of a promotional tour for Jaar, which is set to continue in Siliguri on Baisakh 20 and in Darjeeling thereafter.
The film, based on a historical story by celebrated writer Indra Bahadur Rai, stars National Film Award-winning actress Geetanjali Thapa in the lead role, alongside Saugat Malla and Anoop Bikram Shahi.
Jaar promises a rich cinematic experience with cinematography by Saravanan Elavarasu and editing by Akhikesh Rai. The film is a collaborative production between LA-7 Shorts, Hope Reels, Baral Studios, and Kiwa Productions. The executive production team also includes Jyoti Chettri, Neeraj Rai, Pema Rinzing Lepcha, and Nursang Bhutia.
The Jaar team will engage with local audiences during the premieres, gathering feedback and participating in promotional events, aiming to create a strong regional buzz ahead of the official release.
