The trailer of the web series ‘Ghar But in America,’ starring Arunima Lamsal, has been released.
The trailer, which was unveiled on Wednesday at a ceremony in Kathmandu, depicts the way of life and familial ties of Nepalis who have made the United States their permanent home. The series is regarded as the first commercial series to be made available on the Nepali over-the-top platform, “MSM Video.”
Produced under the banner of Seven Colors Digital, this series is reportedly streaming all 12 episodes simultaneously during the second week of Baisakh, on the occasion of the New Year 2082. This series, based on the situational comedy-drama genre and shot entirely in the United States, explores the relationship between a Nepali parent who has arrived in the United States and a daughter who is in a live-in relationship, and the lifestyle there.
“I took on this project because I felt it was important to show on screen what happens in the lives of Nepalis living in America,” says leading actor and series director Bimlesh Adhikari. He said the show will make viewers laugh while also relating to self-identity and the hardships of immigration.
