‘Jhilko’ Opens Advance Booking Ahead of Friday Release

Kathmandu: Advance bookings for the much-anticipated Nepali film Jhilko have officially opened across theaters nationwide. The film is set for release this Friday and carries a compelling social message about the unchecked use of digital technology and its deep-rooted effects on children, family relationships, and society.

Jhilko is directed by Yadav Kumar Bhattarai, who has previously directed historical and social message films like ‘Jhola.’ This time, Bhattarai delves into a modern issue, aiming to foster awareness and dialogue among parents, educators, policymakers, and young people. The screenplay, developed in collaboration with Arundev Joshi and Dev Brat, complements the strong message at the heart of the story.

The film features a talented cast including Ayushi Dhakal, Sunil Pokharel, Barsha Siwakoti, Bishal Pokharel, Bholaraj Sapkota, Janvi Basnet, Jenish Shrestha, and Jebhish Shrestha.

Cinematographer Deepak Bajracharya, editor Nimesh Shrestha, sound designer Uttam Neupane, and color/sound mixer Shyam Kunwar bring technical expertise to the production.

Jhilko is produced under the banner of Media for Culture Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Janata TV. The film is executive produced by Umesh Poudel, with producers Sushila Acharya, Ram Gopal Thapa, and Kiran Kumar Acharya.

Ahead of its theatrical release, the film held its grand premiere in Kathmandu on Thursday evening, building anticipation among audiences and critics alike.
